Infrared thermography provides enhanced evaluation of the structural integrity of a building’s exterior cladding system by revealing areas of moisture entrapment and damaged sheathing as a result of environmental stress.
NES has considerable experience identifying costly hidden damage and validating a sound investment when evaluating a prospective building.
Finding Damage Early
External water intrusion can take years to show up on a building’s interior. Fortunately, infrared thermography can identify the first signs of a potentially much larger problem far more effectively that digital technology. This IS true for on all types of cladding, from Exterior Insulation Finish Systems (EIFS) to single coat stucco.
Exterior cladding surveys are not only accurate; they are also extremely cost effective, and quick. Typically, NES CAN evaluate properties with as many as 30 low-rise apartment buildings, in just a few days on site.
NES often works with engineering firms during the due diligence process of an acquisition. We are typically the first to inspect a property’s exterior, evaluating its overall condition and advising of any additional services required to complete the due diligence of a property. We can also provide thorough environmental site assessments. Our services are also used in litigation to provide detailed information for insurance claims, as well as to supply bid specifications for remedial actions.
Annual Inspections
Many commercial and multi-family properties rely on our annual inspection services to proactively maintain their investments. They understand that the cost of a professional annual inspection from NES is nominal compared to a restoration project caused by undetected water damage.
